Richard Commey who was fighting at home for the first time in many years improved his victories to 25 after the three Judges scored 116-112, 117-113, 116-112 in his favor.
Slimani was swift with his punches and kept on attacking, but which was not heavy to wither Commey who retaliated back with much more power and showed his dodging skills.
Round six got heated with influx of punches from Commey, however Hedi responded back in style as he stormed Richard unexpectedly nearly causing a knock. Commey’s flow resulted in a deep cut on the face of Belgian with blood spurting out but Hedi still persisted on to the end.
The final rounds produced more excitement when Commey continued to deepen the wound on the fore head of Silmani, but he never gave up.
Richard Commey deserved the verdict announced by the officials, and he is now looking forward to another World title opportunity after he lost the vacant IBF World lightweight title to American Robert Easter Jnr. in September 2016.

The event was well attended and the spectators behaved well giving the security men not much to do.
Promoter Jacob Zwennes of Errol Hawk said he was glad with the show put up by the young boxers in the supporting bouts and expressed that the future of Ghana boxing is still very bright.
