The Black Satellites of Ghana, one of the most experienced sides at the U-20 World Cup finals, ensured they will continue their legacy at the tournament after they edged Zambia 2-1. Ghana did not make life easy on themselves as Zambia scored after just two minutes. However, Asiedu Attobrah was able to score an equaliser before half-time to make it 1-1.
The decisive winner for the 2009 U-20 World Cup champions did not come until late on when substitute Samuel Afful was able to finish past Zambia goalkeeper Mangani Banda. The win earned the Black Satellites a spot in the semi-finals of the competition and an all-important ticket to the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
