He made the promise on Monday when his company supported the Australian High Commissioner HE Andrew Barnes to present two cheques of 25,000ghc to the Azumah Nelson Foundation and the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), after a fund raising dinner.
Mohammed Shanoon who has been appointed Chef du Mission for the Ghana contingent said the promise is a good gesture for the athletes to perform their best.
GOC President Ben Nunoo Mensah who was very glad with the promise noted that the business world has confidence in the new GOC and very soon they will start a sponsorship drive towards Gold Coast 2018, and the target is $1million.
He noted that Australian companies in Ghana can be popular if they associate with sports and prayed that athletes sent will perform better than the previous Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
He expressed that Ghana is going for quality and not quantity, so the disciplines that Ghana qualifies are those that are going to be supported to reach the ultimate.
Present at the ceremony were some GOC executive board members, Theo Wilson Edzie, President of the Ghana Swimming Federation, Nana Mankattah, President of the Mass Sports Association, Rev. Quarcoo, Assistant General Secretary and Richard Akpokavie, General Secretary of the GOC.
