
Garbiñe Muguruza is set to become the new WTA World No.1 for the first time in her career when the updated rankings are released on Monday, September 11. The Spaniard will become the second woman from her country to hold the top spot (after Arantxa Sánchez Vicario) and 24th overall in the history of the WTA.
Muguruza will overtake the top spot from Karolina Pliskova, who has held the WTA World No.1 position for a total of eight weeks.
