Hon. Dickson Rogers, a member of the Parliamentary Oversight Committee of Sports, has said the long lasting footballing impasse can only be settled by the country’s President, Ernest Bai Koroma.
"This impasse will only be settled by the President alone and I want him to know this. We have heard from the SLFA Secretary that they have been on this issue for the past four years,” Hon. Rogers said and further accused the former Minister of Sports, Paul Kamara and his successor, Ahmed Kanu of their intention of get rid of Madam Isha Johansen as President of the SLFA.
He said: “The President should be the one to look into this, let us stop wasting our time for God sake and take this case to the President. Our interest now is in football which brings happiness to the faces of the youth, we have to address other issues that are affecting our people as representatives.”
Chairman of the committee, Hon. Habib Munda said the purpose of the meeting was to make ensure that they find ways to address the current issue affecting football activities in the country adding that the recent issue with the sport needed the MP’s intervention.
