Lausanne, Switzerland, March 29, 2017 - FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° met with the IOC President Thomas Bach for an official lunch at the IOC Headquarters to discuss the success of the volleyball and beach volleyball at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
President Graça, accompanied by the FIVB Secretary General Fernando Lima, presented his IOC counterpart with the original painting of the spectacular Rio 2016 Beach Volleyball Arena on Copacabana.

After the official lunch, President Graça said: “I was proud to meet the IOC President Thomas Bach today to reflect on the great success of volleyball, beach volleyball and the Volleyball House at Rio 2016.
It was a great pleasure to confirm the ultimate position of our sport during the Olympic Games as volleyball was at the top of the summer Olympic sports by the number of TV viewer hours and doubled the London 2012 results.
We also discussed with Thomas Bach the new era for volleyball and the important strategic decisions the FIVB took during the last Board of Administration meeting several months ago.”
