Founded in 1924, Beira won the championship after defeating Desportivo de Maputo 2-1 in the ultimate match of the season on Saturday. The victory took their tally to 61 points from 30 games, six more than rivals UDS Songo who lost 2-0 at mid table side, Ferroviário Nacala.
Traditional giants, Costa do Sol finished a distant eleventh, 23 points behind the league champions.
By the feat, Ferroviario da Beira will represent Mozambique in next year’s CAF Champions League.
Meanwhile, the bottom three clubs Estrela Vermelha Maputo, Desportivo Maputo and Desportivo Niassa have been relegated.
