Speaking on Kwese Sports TV show Home Run hosted by Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and Kokui Serlomey, they thanked God for the life of Madam Gloria Commodore and the executives and members of the association that celebrated their third anniversary with an awareness walk and awards ceremony held at the Accra Sports Stadium.
She noted that after 25 years in the game which she is still participating, no body or organisation has recognized or rewarded her, so what was done historically by WISA NGO is commendable.
According to Yarkor Chavez, boxing has taken her to countries like England, Germany, Russia and Australia, where she always raised the flag of Ghana.
For Amerley Turkson, she decided to move from boxing to refereeing and coaching to unearth talents after being frustrated by one deputy youth & sports minister.
She said boxing is part of her life as the community of Bukom know nothing best than boxing.
She expressed that the award from WISA NGO came as a big surprise and she is very much grateful to God and the hardworking journalists who are moving the nation like Yours Truly.
She noted that the award has motivated her to work harder as a coach and will fish out for more female boxers to train.
She urged the sports ministry and national sports authority to consider female boxers and give them the opportunity to take part in international competition.
