Speaking to Yours Truly at the maiden Women In Sports Association (WISA) Awards ceremony held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday where she received an award for her contribution to Ghana Sports, she commended those who thought it wise that past sports women should be remembered.
She noted that Ghana is blessed with sporting talents, and the government must invest in sports so that many people would be attracted.
She advised that building sports facilities is a way of beautifying the country and developing sporting talents.
“We need modern sports facilities. Let’s know that a healthy nation is a wealthy nation, and sports is what makes people healthy” she said.
She hinted that her husband, also a sportsman who played and coached the national hockey team, Ashalley Okine passed on some months ago and she had been lonely, but believes looking at the plague and citation on the WISA award will inspire and urge her on to live a little longer.
