BAMAKO (FIBA AfroBasket 2017) - Chad on Saturday beat Zimbabwe 57-45 in Day 2 of FIBA AfroBasket 2017 additional qualifier in Bamako, Mali, to set up a decider against the Central African Republic (CAF).
Although Zimbabwe's Tatenda Maturure came up with a terrific effort, his game-high 19 points made little difference to avoid his country's second straight defeat.
With the win, Chad will take on CAF on Sunday in a contest that will decide the team that will complete the FIBA AfroBasket 2017 line-up.
So far, teams qualified for the FIBA AfroBasket 2017 include the continental champions Nigeria, Angola, Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Uganda, Mozambique and South Africa.
Both Guinea and Rwanda have been awarded wild cards to compete in the FIBA African basketball showpiece.
