The deal, which commences on 1st November, will result in the development’s stadiums being renamed the Emerald Headingley Cricket Ground and Emerald Headingley Rugby Stadium. The agreement also includes the naming rights to the North-South stand - which will be redeveloped in 2019 - and a 450-seater banqueting suite. The financial terms of the deal were not released.
Gary Hetherington, Leeds Rhinos’ chief executive, added: “In our 50th year, Emerald looks forward to an exciting future. As a business founded in Yorkshire, it’s important that we support our local community, so it’s fitting that we’re working with Headingley Stadium to continue to host world class sport.”
