The 2014 British Triathlon Championships, powered by Whole Earth natural peanut butter, took place on Sunday August 10th in Liverpool's historic docks despite high winds and heavy rain caused by hurricane Bertha.
More than 2,000 competitors, including Shadow Secretary of State for Health Andy Burnham MP, Big Brother winner Craig Phillips and X Factor 2012 contestant Chris Maloney, swam in the Queens and Wapping Docks, biked past The Liver Buildings and ran through the Docks before they crossed the finish line to collect their hard earned medals.
Amongst the amateur athletes who took part, were the Lindsay family of Durham, father Steve Lindsay, mother Fiona Shenton and daughter Rosie Lindsay, Liverpudlian brothers Chris and Paul McNally and Runcorn father and son Tim and Alex Nutter.
Women's Triathlon World Number One Gwen Jorgensen took the race by storm to win Gold in the Women's Elite SuperSprint with a time of xxx.

In the interest of athlete safety, the Men's Elite SuperSprint race was cancelled due to the severe weather conditions.
