Wusum Stars will battle against Pathfinder FC in this year’s grand-finale of the Ernest Bai Koroma trophy, which has a prize tag of Le 10 million.
Both teams will face each other on Sunday, 25th December at the Wusum Stadium in Makeni City, Northern Sierra Leone, while the runners-up will walk away with a consolation prize of five million Leones.
“The tournament has succeeded in producing young and talented players and all this is thanks to the Africell Telecommunication Company and Mercury International led sponsors,” Hon. Bah said.
Africell chief corporate affairs, Joe Abass said they are pleased to continue their support for the tournament.
“Africell continues to prides itself as being the most dominant supporter of sports in Sierra Leone; our support cuts across all sporting disciplines from football, volleyball, lawn and table tennis, basketball, athletics, squash and golf,” Joe Abass said.
The Africell chief corporate affairs officer thanked both Hon. Bah and the Bombali District Football Association for steering the organization of the tournament all these years.
Wusum Stars reached the tournament final after beating Kholifa Stars from Tonkolili district 4-2 on aggregates thanks to a 3-0 win in their return leg clash after they went down 2-1 during the first leg.
The Makeni Town favorites then went on to eliminate Ocean Boys FC in the semi-finals while Pathfinder FC made their way to the finals by eliminating Tonkolili Rangers and Great Scarcies in the quarter and semi-final respectively.
Meanwhile, a female clash between Freetown and Makeni Best will precede the grande-finale clash.
