Speaking to Yours Truly on how he saw the tournament, Nkansah who is popularly known as ‘Apirigu Chaka Pama’ said the event has been wonderful, but was not happy that most Ghanaian players fell out so early.
He called on the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) to organize more tournaments to put the local players in form and ready to face their international counterparts.
He said there is the need for more young boys and girls to play Tennis because it is a decent sport.
The tournament which ends on Saturday has produced some wonderful displays and most of the foreign players are in love with the fine weather and friendly people of Accra.
Players from over 30 countries are taking part in the tournament which started as a national competition, before it was graded to West Africa and now a world event.
Dr. Dan McKorley is also happy that the event which bears his name is now on the calendar of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
Winners have $15,000 to share and he encouraged more Ghanaians to play in the finals next time.
