The race for the Supporters’ Shield heats up in Week 27 with some high-powered regional rivals meeting and crucial points on the line. Eastern Conference leaders D.C. United will pay a visit to Northeast rival and playoff hopeful New York Red Bulls. United won both of the first two meetings between the clubs this year, but have not won a regular season game at Red Bull Arena since 2011. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid is making his case for Goalkeeper of the Year and posted back-to-back shutouts for the second time this season in a 0-0 draw at Vancouver on September 6 and a 2-0 win against the Red Bulls at RFK Stadium on August 31.

Red Bulls forward and Budweiser Golden Boot leader, Bradley Wright-Phillips, has scored in nine consecutive regular season games at Red Bull Arena. His latest exploits bring his total to 14 goals at home spanning all the way back to his hat trick against the Houston Dynamo on April 23. The game can be seen on Wednesday, September 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.

Out west, Seattle Sounders FC will host defending conference champions Real Salt Lake for some “Friday Night Lights.” The two western powers split the previous two meetings this season, but the Sounders have shutout Jeff Cassar’s team at CenturyLink Field across all competitions dating back to May 12, 2012. Both teams are coming off big wins in Week 26. Seattle forward Obafemi Martins continued his brilliant 2014 campaign with a dominant performance, scoring two goals in the 4-2 victory against Chivas USA.

RSL welcomed back two of their star strikers in style as Robbie Findley opened his 2014 goal scoring account with a much needed goal, and Costa Rican international Alvaro Saborio returned after a leg injury which kept him sidelined for 118 days. Saborio made up for lost time quickly, scoring a 77th minute game-winner in the 2-1 win against FC Dallas. The potential Western Conference Championship preview can be seen Friday, September 12 at 10:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
