Although he only made his debut as a skeleton athlete in 2016, Frimpong already possesses the 95th place on the world ranking list. If he manages to reach the top 60 in January, he will qualify for Pyeongchang 2018. This would make Frimpong the second Ghanaian athlete ever to participate in the Winter Olympics. Previously, alpine skier Kwame Nkrumah-Acheampong represented Ghana during Vancouver 2010.
As a 'Right to Play' ambassador - the charity that uses sport and play to improve the lives of children in developing countries and conflict areas - it is Frimpong's mission to inspire Ghanaian youth with his athletic achievements and skeleton races. To support him, Cocoa from Ghana sponsors Frimpong on his way to the Winter Olympics, which takes place from 9 to 25 February 2018.

So far, I’ve done a lot for the U.S. and for the Netherlands, but I haven't done much for the country where I was born. This time I want to give back tomy country. I want to put Ghana on the map, and with skeleton I am doing so head-first. If I make it to the Olympics, I'll be representing hope and representing everyone who believes in their dreams and want to make them come true.”
