The Phobians had beaten Kotoko 3-1 on aggregate after the exciting first leg win at the Accra Sports Stadium on 1 May with goals from local stars Kwame Kizito, Thomas Abbey and Patrick Razak.
Sunday's match was over-shadowed by Saddick Adams injury in the first half where he suffered a concussion.
The hat-trick hero during the FA Cup final two months ago in Tamale was later rushed to the hospital.
However, few minutes after the match, Kotoko released a statement to allay fears about the striker. The statement read: ''Saddick Adams is responding to treatment and is in a very stable condition at the Komfo Anokye emergency unit.
For Hearts, it was a sweet revenge after they lost the MTN FA Cup Final in Tamale.
Coach Frank Nuttal was very happy with his player who jubilated over the victory in Kumasi. Hearts of Oak have registered many victories over Kotoko in cup matches and Sunday’s win tells that the Phobians are still on their feet and ready t win the Premier League that has eluded them for many years.
They came close last season, but suffered due to poor refereeing. The Scottish trainer believes the victory will motivate his players for the missions ahead.
With this cup victory, they look set to give other clubs a run for their money. They are attracting more young stars.
