Chris Bertish is currently completing the SUP Crossing with the main objective to cross the Atlantic Ocean on a stand-up paddle board, solo and unsupported.
The #StandUp campaign has been created to not only assist Chris in reaching his goal, but to encourage the public to stand up and show support to these worthy causes. The idea is to get people to create their own personalised #StandUP sign or poster and then post a photo of it to social media, with the status 'I #StandUp for #TheSupCrossing' and include a short motivation why and then motivating their followers to like, share and donate to The Sup Crossing initiative.
Chris has already completed over two-thirds of the journey. He began his voyage on 6th December 2016 from the mainland of Agadir, Morocco, traveling southwesterly past the Canary Islands. He will finish in Antigua in mid-March. The entire SUP Crossing journey will take Bertish across just short of 6,500km of open ocean, traveling the equivalent of over a marathon a day for over 90 days.
Craig Featherby, chief executive officer at Carrick Wealth said: “We commend Chris for being an inspiration to all. He is a remarkable, skilled adventurer and motivator, and like him, we too, believe that nothing is impossible. The SUP Crossing is “Performance with a Purpose” and this concept emulates what Carrick Wealth stands for. As a company, we seek to achieve results without compromising our company and personal values. We are really excited to be supporting the #StandUp campaign and Standing Up with Chris and his commitment to raising millions that will provide help to at-risk and vulnerable children in Africa.”
