Bloemfontein Celtic chairman Max Tshabalala has apologised to all foreign players plying their trade in South Africa and announced the club will join an anti-xenophobia march on Thursday.

In a press release published on the club's official website, Tshabalala condemned the on-going violence against foreign nationals living in South Africa and revealed they will be joining the march alongside the ANC, SACP and COSATU on Thursday.

"This abhorrent conduct of discrimination needs to be condemned with the contempt it deserves," he said.

"We have players thoroughly committed to playing for various Premiership teams from all over Africa.

"We must make sure that they are protected and celebrated by the same people killing innocent human beings.

"It will be a travesty of justice if we fold arms and pretend not to see what is happening.

"I'm completely incensed and somehow perturbed looking at how vultures destroy the fruits of liberation with some idiotic acts of brutality.

"I have personally addressed our foreign players, apologising on behalf of South Africans for the killing of their brothers and sisters and, consequent to that, inform them that they are still the most integral part of this team and highly needed by the country at large.

"It is excruciatingly painful seeing people being maimed and assaulted in a Kangaroo-court format and that brings sad memories of the apartheid era.

"We must unite as a country and more especially soccer loving family to educate and help in trying to curb this lunacy," Tshabalala concluded.
