ICC announce Match Officials for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the 20 match officials for the League Round of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
Sixteen umpires will officiate the 13th edition of the tournament, including all 12 of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and four members of the ICC Emerging Umpire Panel, they are: Chris Brown, Kumar Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney, Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, Nitin Menon, Ahsan Raza, Paul Reiffel, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shaid, Rod Tucker, Alex Wharf, Joel Wilson and Paul Wilson.

Aliyyah Koloc reaches the finish of first rally raid event with top-tier REVO T1+ in South Africa

Dubai-born teenager Aliyyah Koloc completed her maiden outing in the top T1+ category of the South African Rally Raid Championship, finishing 12th in the Parys 400 double header this weekend.

The 19-year-old all-rounder, who previously contested the Sugarbelt 400 in a T1 prototype after moving up from the T3 Lightweight Prototype with which she drove the Dakar Rally in January, teamed up with experienced navigator Riaan Greyling at the wheel of the #229 Red-Lined REVO T1+ machine.

Two female boxing enthusiasts, Madam Dineo Motlepa and Miss Sarah Lotus Asare on Monday evening donated some personal items to six female boxers who are going to represent Ghana at the African Olympic Games Qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal.
Making the presentation at the camp of the Black Hitters, Ghana's female boxing team, Miss Asare said the items were to motivate and encourage them to give off their all and best during the tournament.
According to Sarah Lotus, who is the WBC Cares Africa representative, sports women often have challenges and the items were to solve some of their petty problems.
She said the donation is to help them not to think about their menstruation and private issues, but go all out and win in the ring.

Chris Broad set to Officiate in 350th Men’s ODI as Match Referee

Chris Broad of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees will reach the milestone of 350 Men’s One Day Internationals when he officiates in the first match of the series between England and New Zealand in Cardiff on Friday.A former England opening batter who scored 1,661 runs in 25 Tests and 1,361 runs in 34 ODIs, famously scoring centuries in three consecutive matches of the Ashes series of 1986-87, Broad is only the second to reach the milestone of 350 ODIs as match referee after Ranjan Madugalle.
Sean Easey, ICC Manager of Umpires and Referees, congratulated Broad on reaching the milestone.

The Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GBF) has confirmed that Olympic bronze medalist; Samuel Takyi is not part of the team representing the country at the African Olympic Games qualifiers in Senegal.
GBF president Bernard Quartey told the media the boxer made some demands that he wanted to be met before he joined the Black Bombers.
According to him, Takyi demanded that the cash reward pledged to him by President Akufo-Addo when he won bronze at the last Olympics be paid to him before he joined the team.
