Mohammed Camara of Mali and Eric Ayiah of Ghana have impressed as ‘captain fantastic’ by guiding their teammates with guiles and goals thus far. While Camara has been the lynchpin for the Aiglonnets, Ayiah has scored more than a fair share of goals for Ghana as the best striker with five goals in four matches.
But his Ghanaian counterpart, Eric said he was not concern about the future yet but the grand finale on Sunday as the Black Starlets seek their third title.
“My team, Black Starlets of Ghana will win on Sunday,” stated Ayiah. “We have played very well; and I think we have played the best football in the tournament, so we are sure of winning on Sunday.
“We've had a wonderful time playing football and bonded as a group; the support we have had has been amazing, “added Ayiah, who picked Asamoah Gyan- Captain of the -Black Stars as his role model.
Yet Camara says fans support would be Mall’s weapon against Ghana, adding the locals would back the Aiglonnets all the way.
Noted Camara: “Clearly, one of the things engraved in my mind is the huge support of Gabonese people; and since we started the support of the fans has been huge s as if we are playing in Bamako.
“It is an unforgettable moment for us. In short because public has driven our adrenalines most; the public makes us want to play football and allows us to surpass ourselves to give joy to the people,” he stated.
