Ahead of the meeting; CAFonline.com caught with the head coaches and captains of the two sides on their expectations;
Every team has its own weakness and strength. We have not qualified yet but victory in the first match is a good start for us. It will be tough for both teams. Ethiopia will be seeking to reignite their chances and we want to qualify.
I don’t have any injury in my team. The only absentee is defender Joseph Ngwem, who was sent off in the first match.
The quality of football displayed at the tournament is very high and is a confirmation that African football is improving and that teams are progressing every day.
Nyame Hugo Patrick (Captain, Cameroon)
Ethiopia conceded three goals in their first match but this doesn’t make our mission easy, because they will fight until the last minute to win. We had a tough match against Angola and we still concentrating on winning the second game.
Yohannes Sahile Tesema (Head Coach, Ethiopia)
We will play to win against Cameroon. It’s an important match for us. If we want to qualify, we have to win that game otherwise we are out. We don’t have any option.
We fear no team. Cameroon is a big team but we also have good players. We have to learn from our mistakes to avoid another loss.
Deng Ramkel Lok (Forward, Ethiopia)
We were not playing the way we wanted during the first match (against DR Congo). It was a tough match and we did not have enough chances to score. We also failed to translate the few chances that came our way. We have to work harder. People will see a different Ethiopian side in the next two matches. I watched the Angola versus Cameroon, and both ar beatable. We can beat them both. They are not better than us. We have enough confidence.
