BYC maintained their composure to emerge champions after the league took a nosedive as a result of the Ebola crisis between 2013 and 2015.
The ‘Blue Boys’ as BYC are affectionately called sealed the title after a 2-0 victory over Kiterace FC at the Bluefield Stadium in Central Monrovia at the weekend. Mark Paye and Prince Saydee each scored in the second half.
Following the triumph, an elated BYC coach Cooper Sannor said “BYC has a good organizational structure and the level of support has been great. l hope to replicate this performance at the top level of African football next year”, with the champions billed to represent Liberia in next year’s CAF Champions League.
Meanwhile, Mighty Dragon, NPA Anchors and Holders FC have been relegated from the top flight.
