A Few Days to FIFA’s 69thCongress and days before the kick off of the women’s World Cup in France the membership of Football World’s Governing body’s Council met to address a number of key items and key amongst that was lifting of the suspension of the ban of Sierra Leone in International football due to violations of its policies against government and political interference of its functions. In a release dated June 3rd2019 it stated;
The key decisions taken by the FIFA Council at meeting no. 10 included:
Decision to lift the suspension of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) with immediate effect, after the High Court of Sierra Leone acquitted the SLFA President and the SLFA General Secretary of all charges on 27 May, which ensured that the recognised leadership has full control of the member association again.
