The Betway Talent Search will host aspiring footballers looking to test their skills under the watchful eyes of professional scouts as they compete for a place in the final 16 who will be invited to attend a specialised football training camp.
According to Rex Danquah Jr. a top executive of Betway, they are commited to development of people and the communities, hence they have sponsored West Ham in London and AsGold in Ghana, supported water project at Oyarifa and now the search for sporting talent.
Kwabena Oppong Nkrumah , Marketing Manager of Betway Ghana hinted that the hunt will be mainly in the golden triangle of Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi.
He said from this elite football training camp, one lucky player will find himself the grand prize winner with a potential trial and training experience with a local Ghanaian Premier League club.
He urged footballers between the ages of 18 – 25 years who are looking for opportunity to showcase their talent are encouraged to log on to or visit – www.betway.com/talentsearch to learn more. “All that a qualified player needs is an identification card, passport or school ID, voters ID card” he expressed.
According to the search , the first 500 entrants to apply for the initial round in each region will be accepted – so those looking to secure their spots should enter as registration open.
Betway will contact the successful entrant who would be invited to participate in the first ever Betway Talent Search.
The following dates have been chosen for the regional Betway Talent Searches: Takoradi -July 8, 2017, Koforidua – July 15, 2017, Kumasi – July 22, 2017 and Accra – July 29, 2017.
The Betway Talent Search sits alongside the Betway sponsorship of Ashanti Gold SC as part of Betway’s commitment to driving interest and support in Ghanaian football.
The launch of the Search took place at the Alisa Hotel in Accra with personalities like Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Deputy Minister of Information, Magnus Rex Danquah of RICS Consult, Kudjoe Fianoo of GHALCA and AshGold, Neil Armstrong Mortagbe, John Ansah of GHALCA and Dwarfs, Ibrahim Sannie of the GFA Communications and Godfred Akoto attending.
