As per tradition, Sasol Banyana Banyana visited the Royal council where they were officially welcomed to Moruleng Village in North West. The Chief wished Banyana Banyana well in their upcoming friendly international against Cote d I’voire as well as in the African Women’s Championships (AWC).
Banyana Banyana thereafter visited Ofentse Primary school which is situated close to Moruleng stadium.

The team held their first training session at the Moruleng Stadium ahead of their clash against Cote d I’voire on Heritage day, 24 September, kick-off at 15h00.
Vera Pauw’s charges are in their final stages of preparations for the African Women’s Championships which will be staged in Namibia from 11 – 25 October.
“It’s a privilege to have these visits, especially by going to schools. This gives the leaners inspiration and motivation, so they can realise that nothing is impossible, not only in sport, but also in life as a whole. We wish Banyana Banyana all the best for the match on Wednesday and the tournament in Namibia,” said Kgosi Nyalala Pilane, King of Bakgatla Ba Kgafela.
The Sasol sponsored women’s national team have thus far played seven international friendly matches against fellow neighbours Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Tanzania, winning six and only drawing one match which was against Zimbabwe.
Their recent win is a 10–0 win over Botswana a week ago at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Phokeng.
