The public ballot entry system for the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon opens to all applicants tomorrow (Monday 30 April) and closes at 17.00 BST on Friday 4 May.
The ballot will be open for five days to give everyone who would like to enter the event a fair chance to do so.

Thursday, 26th April 2018 – Lausanne, Switzerland : Yesterday the International Boxing Association (AIBA) submitted an Update Report to the Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) following their request from February 2018.
The report provides information regarding AIBA’s current and future actions in the fields of governance, management, finance, and sporting integrity. Furthermore, the report contains detailed information regarding two of AIBA’s newly developed programmes: the AIBA Diversity in Boxing programme and the AIBA Gender Equality Forum. 
LE LOCLE/MIES, Switzerland - FIBA, the International Basketball Federation, and Tissot, a leading Swiss watch manufacturer from the Swatch Group, on Thursday announced a new partnership revolving around FIBA 3x3 Basketball.
Under the agreement, Tissot becomes FIBA 3x3’s Official Timekeeper and continues to develop its major digital presence. 
The Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG) has said they are happy with the strides Ghana made in the sport, at the just ended Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Pulses, grains, seeds and nut brand Merchant Gourmet has agreed a deal to sponsor this year’s Women’s World Cup hockey tournament in London through a partnership with the England & GB Hockey governing body.
Merchant Gourmet’s three-year deal with the body will provide athletes with a range of nutritional ready-to-eat grains and pulses. 
The Russian government has projected that its hosting of this summer’s Fifa World Cup national team football tournament could boost the host country’s economy by up to 1.92 trillion rubles $31bn.
Russia’s GDP could be boosted by between 1.62 trillion rubles and 1.92 trillion rubles for the 10-year period from 2013 to 2023. The anticipated boost will come from tourism, spending on construction projects and knock-on effects from government investments, the report said.

South Africa will go face to face with England in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 opener at The Oval after the Proteas’ schedule of matches in the 30 May to 14 July tournament was confirmed today.
South Africa had played England at the same venue in the 1999 tournament and following Herschelle Gibbs’ half-century and Allan Donald’s four for 17, had made short work of the host nation by 122 runs. That match was South Africa’s third group fixture and gave them three wins out of three matches.

The International Cricket Council today confirmed the schedule of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which will be staged in England and Wales from 30 May to 14 July.
England will open the tournament at The Oval on 30 May when they will take on South Africa, while Australia will launch their title defence on 1 June against the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier champions Afghanistan in a day/night match in Bristol. 
Afghanistan, the newest sensation in world cricket, will take on world champions Australia in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 opener in a day/night fixture in Bristol on 1 June, the ICC confirmed on Thursday.
Afghanistan, who were playing in the ICC World Cricket League Division 5 in 2008, made their World Cup debut in Australia and New Zealand in 2015 and next year will be making their second appearance after winning the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe in March. 
On the final day of a week of ICC meetings in Kolkata, the ICC Board today gave the green light to all T20 matches between Members being awarded international status along with plans to introduce global rankings in the format.
The move across both men’s and women’s cricket, is part of the wider strategic aim of using the T20 format to globalize the game. New minimum standards will be introduced making it as easy as possible for Members to play international cricket in a sustainable and affordable way.

The IAAF this week issued new Eligibility Regulations [English | French] for Female Classification (Athlete with Differences of Sexual Development) for events from 400m to the mile, including 400m, hurdles races, 800m, 1500m, one mile races and combined events over the same distances (‘Restricted Events’). 
South Africa's queen of the track and former sports star of the year, Caster Semenya, may be forced, once again, to lower her testosterone levels if she is to continue with long distances.
If she doesn't, she will not be allowed to compete in her specialist 800m and 1 500m events. 
SHENZHEN (FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2018) - The finalized rosters of the 21 men's and 18 women's teams participating at the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2018 in Shenzhen, China on April 27 - May 1 have been confirmed.
With the action set to start on Friday April 27 with the qualifying draw, the rosters of the best 3x3 teams from Asia and Oceania have been trimmed to 4 players. 
Group Asia reaches Season VIII the end of the regular season in Guizhou on Friday night as the China Dragons host the Indian Tigers, with the home side chasing their first win of the campaign. The Dragons will have to keep their performance at the top level in Guizhou to lift their season and win a few points in front of their fans for the last match of the regular season. The previous encounter saw the Tigers secure a brilliant 4-1 win in Rohtak in front of a cheerful Indian crowd.
