​Lausanne, 28 March 2017 – The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has issued a consent award in the arbitration procedure between the Serbian football club FK Partizan and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) relating to the finding of the Adjudicatory Chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB AC) that FK Partizan had breached the UEFA Club Licensing & Financial Fair Play Regulations (CL&FFPR). The settlement agreement reached by the parties is embodied in the consent award, which concludes the CAS arbitration.
 
On 13 December 2016, the CFCB AC determined that FK Partizan had failed to satisfy the overdue payables requirements in the CL&FFPR (in particular, with regard to certain amounts owed to the Serbian tax authority). Accordingly, the CFCB AC decided to exclude the club from participating in the next UEFA club competition for which it would otherwise qualify in the next three seasons.

Captain of the Sierra Leone national cricket team, Lansana Lamin is hopeful they will overcome the underdog tag at the ICC/World Cricket League, Africa Division I tournament in Benoni, South Africa.
 
The Patriots will face Ghana in their opening match on April 7th before taking on Zambia, Nigeria, Botswana and Tanzania respectively but Lamin believes they can do their best in securing a qualification to the World Cricket League Division IV.

Sierra Leone will for the first time in almost three years return to domestic football after an agreement was reached between the Football Association (FA) and the Premier league clubs for a kick-start on 15th April 2017.
 
Representatives from the 14 premier league clubs and officials of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) had a meeting at the FA Secretariat, Kingtom on Tuesday in which April 15th was agreed as the tentative date for the commencement of the long awaited league.

NEW YORK(Tuesday, March 28, 2017) – New England Revolution forward Juan Agudelo was voted the Alcatel MLS Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for the fourth week of the 2017 MLS season.

The 24-year-old notched a brace in New England’s 5-2 victory over Minnesota United FC at Gillette Stadium on Saturday to help the Revolution grab its first victory of the season (1-2-0, three points). The dominant performance was Agudelo’s third multi-goal game of his MLS career, while the five team goals marked the club’s highest scoring game since 2014. Dating back to last season, New England is now 5-0-0 in its last five contests in which Agudelo has scored.

28 March 2017 - SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan has described the late liberation struggle icon Ahmed Kathrada as a selfless cadre who was kind to people from all walks of life and was a very measured human being.

Kathrada who remained politically active until his dying days, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday and President Jacob Zuma has requested the national flag to fly at half mast in honour of the struggle hero.

​Striker Michael Olunga scored twice as Kenya beat DR Congo 2-1 in an international friendly played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday. 

Olunga, who was celebrating his 23rd birthday, scored his third goal in two matches having also hit the back of the net in last Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Uganda at the same venue.

​Coming fresh from a convincing 3-1 triumph over Guinea-Bissau last Saturday, the new look South Africa is high in confidence and will be looking at maintaining their dominance over Angola in another international friendly match on Tuesday at the Buffalo City Stadium in East London. The two Southern African sides will be meeting for the 13th time with the Angolans only registering a single victory over their hosts.

Tunis, Tunisia, March 27, 2017 - Ahly of Egypt earned their 12th African Club Championship title, following their 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-18) victory over Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel at Taraji Hall on Monday.
 
Prior to the 2017 title win, Ahly have won the African Club Championship in 1980, 1983, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2003, 2004, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2015. Ahly have six more title wins than Sfax – the second team with the most number of titles in the championship, while Etoile have two titles won in 2001 and 2002.

The first meeting of the FIFA Development Committee in its new composition, which includes independent members from outside football, took place in Zurich today. The committee, chaired by FIFA vice-president and AFC President Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, is responsible for analysing the basic aspects of football training and technical development, among FIFA’s 211 Member Associations, which can be strengthened through the Forward Programme.

LUSAKA (FIBA AfroBasket 2017) -  Zambia on Monday conceded their second defeat in as many games by losing 79-54 to Angola in the FIBA Africa Zone 6 Group G qualifier in Lusaka. 

While the Angolans improved their record to 2-0, hosts Zambia will enter the second leg of the qualifier with their backs against the wall.
