
The national U/17 team is in Niger for the upcoming 2015 African Youth Championships which will be played from 15 February 2015 – 1 March 2015.
On arrival in Niamey, Amajimbos were greeted by some extremely hot weather conditions in this primarily arid country which is currently in the middle of its hottest month of the year.
“During the qualifiers, we did experience this type of hot weather. We did play in some really scorching countries like Tanzania and Egypt but this heat here takes some beating,” added Ntseki.
The South Africans will play in group B of the 2015 CAF African Youth Championships against the likes of Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and Cameroon in their attempt to secure one of four spots allocated to Africa for the FIFA U17 World Cup which will be staged in Chile between 17 October – 8 November 2015.
Group A consist of hosts Niger, Guinea, Nigeria and Zambia.
