Coach Jaffa who recently guided the national team to secure silver and bronze medals on his debut at the African Championship believes more force and strength from his boys; will help them spring a surprise at the World Championships in France.
“I have high hopes going into the championship because the American duo will be part of the squad. They are professional with medals from their clubs and university so I believe with their extra force, Sierra Leone is in for our first World Championship medals,” the hopeful Coach Jaffa said.
Despite expressing his disappointment with the lack of finance regarding the team’s preparation, facilities for the wrestlers in area of training, diets and workout, Coach Jaffa believes determination can drive the lads to success in France.
The physically structured wrestling boss who was disappointed a little bit at the African championship because of their failure to secure gold medals believes the World Championship is a good place to make amends for such disappointment.
“The World Championships is my target and with mental toughness and improved training, I believe we are going for gold in France in August,” he said.
The World championship which is expected to run from August 21–27 in France and Team Sierra Leone are expected to depart days before the commencement of the competition.
