The French chemicals company will serve as a ‘national supporter’ of the 24-nation flagship women’s soccer tournament, which is due to be staged in France across nine host cities, including Grenoble, Le Havre, Lyon, Montpellier, Nice, Paris, Reims, Rennes and Valenciennes.
Philippe Le Floc'h, chief commercial officer at Fifa, added: "Fifa really intends to reach its goals in terms of increasing women's participation in football and building a strong women's football ecosystem. The support of all our partners will be key to achieving this, so I am very pleased to have a strong national supporter like Arkema to help us along the way. The Fifa Women's World Cup will be celebrating the best of women's football and we are both very excited and looking forward to welcoming fans around the world to France next summer. "
Thierry Le Hénaff, chief executive of Arkema, said: "The signing of this partnership is a great opportunity to support and enhance the place of women in both sport and business. The values of proximity, solidarity and self-improvement a competition such as the Fifa Women's World Cup France 2019 are fully in line with Arkema's values and we are very proud to be associated with this world sports event."
