Returning back to Texas to compete on his onetime home turf; the Texas A&M University Indoor Track Facility at College Station, Zambia’s Gerald Phiri lined up in the Finals of the 60 meters dash to take on some of the world’s best in Trayvon Brommel and Mookie Salaam.
Last week at the University of Houston Indoor Track meet Phiri had ran a 6.82 seconds race which to him was not good enough and was dissatisfied and disappointed in himself, he would however come away with a better time at the Texas A&M Meet of 6.75 seconds behind Brommel and Salaam. He returns to his home base of Florida to either prepare for the World Indoors in March or wait for the outdoors as he deals with yet another health setback. Phiri is one of Africa’s favorite printers that will headline the Rio Olympic Games this summer in Brazil.
