Porto-Novo, Benin, September 30, 2015 - A VCP Young Players course was held in Benin from September 23-27. FIVB Instructor Mbaye Deme from Senegal helped the participants to work on the skills they have developed with their clubs. The benefits will be immediate for the players' clubs, but it is also hoped that the country's national youth teams will benefit in the long run.
The national volleyball federation's policy is to focus on training young players in order to provide the national team with a constant stream of new players. The participants in this year's course also took part in training sessions last year. The players put what they had learnt into practice with their clubs and returned for further training this year. This gradual approach has helped to lay the foundations for further training.
