Ousted propelled Whitecaps FC to a 3-1-0 record in June, conceding only four goals in four matches and turning in his seventh clean sheet of the season. The Danish goalkeeper was in topflight form during Vancouver’s recent three-game road swing, which included consecutive wins against the LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls and New England Revolution. With Ousted in net, Whitecaps FC snapped the Galaxy’s 23-game home unbeaten run at the StubHub Center and the Revolution’s 17-match home unbeaten streak at Gillette Stadium. Thanks to Ousted’s efforts, the club now sits atop the Western Conference table and only three points behind D.C. United in the Supporters’ Shield lead.
In Whitecaps FC’s win over the New York Red Bulls on June 20, Ousted turned away two penalty kick attempts from Bradley Wright-Phillips—one of MLS’ most prolific goal scorers. Wright-Phillips tried to beat the goalkeeper to his right in the 5th minute and the 65th minute, but was turned away each time.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC return to MLS action this Saturday, when it takes on the Colorado Rapids at 9:00 p.m. ET at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (TSN, RDS2, Altitude).
