
In four games in the month of July, the Atomic Ant racked up five goals and three assists to help Toronto to a 1-1-2 record in that span. Toronto now sits in third place in a tight Eastern Conference playoff race with a total of 31 points. Giovinco currently leads MLS with 16 goals, overtaking Dwayne De Rosario’s club record for goals in a season, and now claims 10 assists.
Giovinco went on to record a goal and an assist in Toronto’s 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Union on July 18 (watch goal). A week later in Toronto’s 3-3 draw with Columbus Crew SC on July 25, Giovinco added another goal and an assist to round out his spectacular month (watch goal).
Toronto FC returns to MLS action this Saturday, when they host Sporting Kansas City at 4:00 p.m. ET at BMO Field (TSN).
