
The 2015/16 NBA season started on Tuesday night with last season runner up and finalist, the Cleveland Cavaliers taking on Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose’ Chicago Bulls as the President of the United States Barack Obama in watched on live from a courtside seat.
On the West Coast it was ring night for the Golden State Warriors as players and staff received their championship ring for winning the 2014/15 NBA title. After a well deserved honor of Stephen Curry and his teammates as every player was called on to center stage to pick up their rings by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, the 2015/16 Season kicked off with the Warriors taking on Anthony Davis and his New Orleans Pelicans. The Warriors and Curry got off to a sizzling start cooling off the Pelicans and Davis who himself had a horrible shooting night. On the other hand Stephen Curry who is out to prove his doubters wrong that last season was not a fluke got off to a great start scoring 22 points in the first quarter and ending with 40 points on the night as the Warriors beat the Pelicans 95 : 111.
In other Eastern Conference action it was the Detroit Pistons who took on the Atlanta Hawks on opening night beating the Conference finalist 106 – 94.
