Sudan forward Waleed Bakhet Hamid will likely not play in the African Cup of Nations Group I match against Sierra Leone on Saturday at the Siaka Steven Stadium in Freetown.
The Al-Hilal Omdurman striker will sit out of the rest of the team’s training after he picked a slight injury during Friday's training session in Freetown.
But the team’s media officer, Yousif Mohamed Yousif is confident that the player would recover in time for the match. Mohamed Yousif said: “ I don’t think it is a major injury but the medical team will definitely asses him tonight before final decision will be made. I hope he will feature.”
The Group I clash on Saturday in Freetown has been described as a crunch encounter for both the host and the visitors as both nations know that only a win will keep alive their qualification hopes.
Ivory Coast are at the summit of the group with five points and take on 2017 hosts Gabon on Saturday in what is effectively a friendly match.
