The second leg of the World Series of Boxing (WSB) Season V Finals between Astana Arlans Kazakhstan and Cuba Domadores will take place on Sunday 21 June at 17:30 (GMT+6) in Astana, Kazakhstan, and the line-up for the closing night of action has now been announced.

“It’s going to be a close match with exciting bouts. Cuba’s squad consists of many World Champions and Olympic gold medalists, but I think we can find an appropriate response. We train according to our plans, and of course we want to win, that’s why we’re working hard. If we lose, then what are we doing in the Finals? We have to win,” said Astana Arlans Head Coach Marat Jakiyev.

“We always compete away at the key events, so our athletes have completely adapted to this, and we completely trust the Referees and Judges.  The return to the WSB Finals means that Cuban boxing is working the correct way in order to reconquer the glory of our previous generations. It also means that we can fulfil our duty for all of the people who give us a lot of support,” remarked Cuba Domadores Head Coach Rolando Acebal.

WSB Season V Finals Second Leg Line-Up:

Flyweight (52 kg): Olzhas Sattibayev (KAZ, 4-2 in WSB) vs Yosbany Veitia (CUB, 15-0 in WSB).

Lightweight (60 kg): Zakir Safiullin (KAZ, 2-3 in WSB) vs Lazaro Alvarez (CUB, 14-1 in WSB).

Welterweight (69 kg): Aslanbek Shymbergenov (KAZ, 2-1 in WSB) vs Roniel Iglesias Sotolongo (CUB, 10-2 in WSB).

Light Heavyweight (81 kg): Nurdaulet Zharmanov (KAZ, 0-1 in WSB) vs Julio Cesar De La Cruz (CUB, 14-1 in WSB).

Super Heavyweight (91+ kg): Ivan Dychko (KAZ, 1-0 in WSB) vs Yohandi Toirac (CUB, 2-1 in WSB).

If the score is level after the completion of all ten bouts across the two legs, a Sudden Death tiebreaker match will occur at Bantamweight (56 kg) between Meirbolat Toitov (KAZ, 8-2) and Andy Cruz Gomez (CUB, 5-0 in WSB).
