25 June 2015 – The Sasol league roadshows are set to continue in the different provinces around the country, with the next roadshow scheduled for the Free State this coming Saturday, 27 June 2015 at the Mangaung Outdoor Sports Centre, Bloemfontein.

All teams competing in the Free State division of the Sasol League and the SAFA Regional league are urged to send six of their best players to be assessed by the national team technical staff and scouts.

The roadshows are a component of the league which affords the senior national team technical staff an opportunity to asses players in different provinces, and a platform for Sasol to interact with the teams and local communities.

The 2015 edition of the Sasol league roadshows started in KwaZulu Natal this past Sunday, 21 June. The whole day event was held at the Chartsworth Stadium in Durban.

Sasol Banyana Banyana assistant coach, Desiree Ellis and SAFA scouts/coaches Cameron Cox started the day having a discussion with local coaches on matters relating to women’s football. Banyana Banyana legend, Annah Monate led the player clinics that were held on the day.

“What we saw in KZN was remarkable; the coaches are doing a great job. The players that came to the clinics had the correct basic ball skills, and this makes me happy as a coach and scout because it shows that the coaches are working and taking women’s football serious. We have identified a few players that we need to keep track of their progress. We are looking forward to seeing more talent when we continue with this great initiative in the other provinces,” said Coach Annah Monate.

The two coastal stream matches of the day both ended in draws (2 – 2), Ntuzuma Ladies played against Galaxy ladies; while Durban ladies met their match in Remax Shooting Stars.

The Free State leg will also include a coaches’ workshop with Banyana Banyana technical staff in attendance. The workshop will focus on matters relating to women’s football coaching, training and warm ups.
