
Saudi Arabian club Najran SC confirmed the signing of Sierra Leone and Al Hilal defender David Simbo on a one-and-a-half year contract.
The 25-year-old former Might Blackpool defender joined the Saudi Premier outfit for an undisclosed fee and the club officially announced the player move on their twitter page stating: “We have signed a contract with Sierra Leone defender David Simbo.”
Later on Wednesday, it was also posted on the club twitter page: “Sierra Leone professional David Simbo arrives at 6 p.m. to King Abdul Aziz airport in Jeddah from Khartoum today.”
The former Mighty Blackpool rocky solid defender has enjoyed professional football at both Swedish sides Motala AIF, Trelleborg FF, Boden BK and Sandviken before he joined Al Hilal in Sunda.
Najran SC are currently playing in the Saudi Premier League and they gained promotion to the Premier League after finishing 2nd in the Saudi First Division during the 2006/07 season. They were able to reach the final four in the 2009-10 Saudi Crown Prince Cup after defeating some of the strongest teams in Saudi football such as Al-Ittihad, but lost to Al-Hilal 1-2 after an impressive display.
