NEW YORK (December 11, 2015) – New England Revolution midfielder Jermaine Jones has been suspended for six matches and fined an undisclosed amount for his conduct toward a match official in the 92nd minute of New England’s MLS Cup Playoff match against D.C. United on October 28, 2015.
Jones was issued a yellow card for dissent in the 92nd minute. The midfielder made contact with the match official and was shown a red card, which carries an automatic one-game suspension. Jones will miss his first six MLS regular season matches in 2016 and, per MLS and U.S. Soccer policy, is ineligible to play in any soccer competition while serving the suspension (VIDEO).

On December 8 the MLS Players Union appealed the decision on behalf of Jones. MLS Commissioner Don Garber heard the appeal and upheld the six-game suspension.
Sporting Kansas City forward Krisztian Nemeth has been suspended for one regular season match and fined an undisclosed amount for violent conduct endangering the safety of an opponent in the 74th minute of Kansas City’s match against the Portland Timbers on October 29, 2015 (VIDEO). Nemeth will miss his first MLS regular season match in 2016.
FC Dallas midfielder Michael Barrios has been fined an undisclosed amount for violating the League’s policy regarding Hands to the Face/Head/Neck of an Opponent in the 67th minute of Dallas’ match versus Portland on November 29, 2015 (VIDEO).
Both Columbus Crew SC and the New York Red Bulls were found to be in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy following an incident in the 27th minute of their match on November 29, 2015. Both Columbus Crew SC midfielder Tony Tchani and New York Red Bulls forward Mike Grella have been fined an undisclosed amount for escalating the incident (VIDEO).
