Blantyre, Malawi, October 21: Malawi female pugilist, Agnes Mtimaukanena Mwando will this Saturday clash with Tanzania opponent Miriam Salietiel in eight-round non title bout to be staged at Robins Park in Blantyre.
This will be the third international bout for Mtimaukanena-Mwando who in April this year defeated Amina Mhumbira of Tanzania and later in July floored Joyce Awino of Kenya.
The former World Boxing Federation (WBF) light middleweight champion told a local daily that the Saturday bout will used to measure her readiness to fight for a title bout.

“The upcoming bout will help me gauge if I am ready to challenge for a title bout,” she said.
Mtimaukanena Mwando further disclosed that she has upped her gears in preparation for the Saturday bout and she hopes to clinch a technical knockout (TKO) win.
“I have intensified my preparations and I am hoping to win on technical knockout,” she said.
Mtimaukanena Mwando has a record of six wins, two draws and a loss under her belt while her Tanzania opponent, Salietiel has four wins, a draw and two losses.
