Canada is one step closer to advancing to the third round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying after goals from Orlando City SC striker Cyle Larin and Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Russell Teibert propelled the team to a 2-0 win over Dominica. Larin gave Canada the lead in the fifth minute to score his second career international goal and Teibert secured the match in the 55th minute with a converted penalty kick to score his first career international tally. The second leg will be played at Toronto’s BMO Field on Tuesday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The selected MLS players include: Ashtone Morgan (Toronto FC), Karl Ouimette (New York Red Bulls), Maxim Tissot (Montreal Impact), Will Johnson (Portland Timbers), Jonathan Osorio (Toronto FC), Russell Teibert (Vancouver Whitecaps FC), Tesho Akindele (FC Dallas) and Cyle Larin (Orlando City SC). Canada is looking to qualify for their first World Cup since 1986.
