The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has announced that the Junior Scorpions will participate in the regional championship targeted at players less than 23-years and scheduled from 3-10 October 2015 in St Louis, Senegal.
All nine member countries namely, Cape Verde, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Gambia have confirmed their participation. Senegal and Mali will use the tourney as part of preparations for the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations due for Senegal at the end of November.
Omar a former coach of Bangladeshi side, Feni Soccer FC will be making his debut in charge of a national side at the sub regional tournament and is looking forward to the challenge.
“I have never been pressured in my career as a player and also as a coach. I have worked in harder conditions.”
Meanwhile, Sise has named a provisional 35-man squad for the tournament.
