At the time of filing this report there was no clear details of the exact medical condition the legendary netballer had died of but some other reports later indicated that she was suffering from cancer.
During the time of her death Mhone was coaching a government sponsored side Civonets.
Mhone a shooter was part of the national netball team that represented Malawi at its maiden appearance in 1995 Netball World Cup that was held in Birmingham England.
During that World Cup, she along side; Waya, Peace Chawinga, Ellina Mapulanga and Judith Chalusa took the netball world by storm propelling Malawi into top five on the global stage.
Mhone is survived by two children both boys.
