A former president of the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), John Zingale has died.
He died on Tuesday, 4 August 2015 at a hospital in Blantyre after a short illness. He was buried two days later. He was 52.
The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) through its President Issa Hayatou has dispatched a message of condolence to the bereaved family and the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), saluting his passion for football and investment towards the development of the game in his country and the continent as whole.

During his leadership of FAM, 1998 to 2002, the federation constructed the Technical Centre in Blantyre as a beneficiary of the FIFA Goal Project (Goal 1) and also outstanding performances by the national teams at the sub-regional championships.
The Flames reached the final of the zonal COSAFA Cup for the first time in 2002, whilst the U-17 side emerged champions of the regional championship in 2001.
He also served as a Member of Parliament representing Chikwawa West, located in the southern part of Malawi between 2009 and 2014.
