The Supporters’ Shield race comes down to the final day of the regular season between two charter clubs – New York Red Bulls (17-10-6, 57 points, East #1, Goal Differential 18) and FC Dallas (17-10-6, 57 points, West #1, Goal Differential 12). New York will be on the road against the Chicago Fire Sunday at 5 p.m. ET (MLS LIVE). The Red Bulls are 1-1-0 on the season against the Fire, with their lone loss coming at Toyota Park in a 3-2 defeat on August 26. The Red Bulls have yet to ever win at Toyota Park, with their last victory as the visiting side coming in 2005 at Soldier Field.
Dallas, unbeaten in four straight matches (3-0-1), travels to northern California at 7 p.m. ET (MLS LIVE) to take on a San Jose Earthquakes (13-12-8, 47 points, West #7) club fighting for their playoff lives. FC Dallas is undefeated on the season against the Earthquakes (1-0-1) and at Avaya Stadium, Dallas played to a scoreless draw on June 7. New York will be hoping to claim their second Supporters’ Shield title in three years, while FC Dallas, runner-up in 2006, will be looking to finally claim their first ever Supporters’ Shield.
