Didier Drogba had a September to remember, leading the Impact to an unbeaten 4-0-2 record and tallying seven goals and an assist in five starts. Thanks to his prolific contributions, Drogba was named MLS Player of the Week for Weeks 27 and 30 and took home the Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month award for September. The former Ivorian international also won the AT&T Goal of the Week awards for Week 27 and Week 30 to cap off his blistering September. The seven tallies were a season-high for most goals scored in a month in MLS which has the Impact on the verge of securing their second playoff berth since 2013.
In the midst of a four-game road trip, the Impact play two matches during Week 32 of the MLS season. Montreal travel to Red Bull Arena to take on Supporters’ Shield leading New York Red Bulls (15-9-6, 51 points, East #1) Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET (MLS LIVE). They then make the trip out west to take on the Colorado Rapids (8-13-10, 34 points, West #10) at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park Saturday night at 6 p.m. ET (MLS LIVE). If Montreal wins both matches this week, they will have clinched a spot in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs.
