
While making his intention known publicly said he will return the past glories of the sport and make the association great again.
“I want to build on the foundation my brother and former president, Andre Hope has created and I am coming to make athletics great again,” Conteh said adding that if elected he will ensure the sport return back to the schools.
The Rtd Major Palo Conteh will face the incumbent, Abdul Karim Sesay in the November 11 polls and with a few days for the elections, former SLAA president, Andre Hope has thrown his weight behind the Defence Minister.
Showing his supports for the one time track star, Hope said he believes with Conteh at the helm a lot of great things will befall the association and the athletes.
He said: “I have known him for so long and he is someone who is committed to make changes in anything he involves in. SLAA now needs someone like him to move the association further. Palo has the contacts and he is a discipline leader.”
