Lausanne, Switzerland, February 5, 2016 - The course calendar for the 2016 season set to start in March has been made available on fivb.com, after it was approved by the Development, Coaching and Technical Commissions last week.
Volleyball Your Way Courses
Among the course offerings are the Volleyball Your Way courses, a part of the FIVB's campaign to promote volleyball to a wider audience. The grassroots programme is offered to the national federations in Categories I and II.
The FIVB supports one Volleyball Your Way course per national federation per year. In 2016, the FIVB aims to certify even more coaches, reach kids at school level, and develop beach volleyball particularly in the islands, through five-day courses including Coaches Level I, Teachers, and Beach Volleyball.
The Development Commission will also launch the first e-Learning Coaches Course Level I, which allows the participants to do theoretical sessions online, one month prior to the course, instead of taking the regular 12-day course. The practical session will then take place at Development Centres over five days.
The Technical Seminars will likewise be conducted in five days, focusing on topics relevant to Teachers, Beach Volleyball, Setting, Middle Player, Outside Hitter/Serve, Defense/Serve/Libero.
